Supplies Needed:

A quality car wash (we like Turtle Wax Ice) & Bucket

Bug and tar remover

Gloves (personal preference)

Engine cleaner and/or Degreaser (Use only on non-paint and non-chrome surfaces)

Small brush (we use a toothbrush)

Soft wheel cleaning brush

Wheel Cleaner

Microfiber covered sponges or micro fiber wash mitt

soft terry towels or microfiber towels

Chamois or synthetic chamois for drying

WD40

Be sure to clean, wash and polish your bike in a spot that is in the shade.
Fill bucket with warm water and the car wash  of your choice. 
Before you start washing clean and bugs or tar off your motorcycle. Use a seperate sponge or cloth than the one you use for washing. It is reccomended to use a bug & tar cleaner. Some people use WD40 to remove bugs & tar. 
If your ride has matte finish pipes you can use a degreaser to clean them. Becareful not to get the degreaser on the paint finish or chrome items.
Use the toothbrush to reach any areas that are too small to get your hands into.
Spray your rims with the wheel cleaner let sit for a minute or two. Then use your wheel brush to clean the brake dust off. 
DO NOT use any type of tire dressing as it will case issues with the tires.
Pre wet your motorcycle before washing. Wash your motorcycle with a microfiber sponge or microfiber wash mitt. Rinse your sponge or mitt often as any dirt or debris on the sponge or mitt can cause scratches/damage to your paint.
Rinse the soap off your motorcyle with clean water.
Use your chamois to dry your motorcycle. This will help eliminate waterspots. A chamois will not scratch or damage your paint.
Polish your motorcycle using a clean soft terry towel. Spray the polish on the towel then gently apply the polish to your motorcycle.  Follow manufacturers directions as some polishes are not applicable to all surfaces.

Know your motorcyle
There are several types of motorcycles you can choose from.  These are:

The Scooter
The scooter is an excellent choice for the inexperienced or younger rider.  They are built smaller and have lighter engines.  They are the most convenient type of motorcyle you can buy, quite portable and practical.  Maintenance-wise, they are also the least complicated — very ideal for the novice driver or someone who doesn’t want a high-maintenance unit.

The scooter is an excellent choice for urban and suburban areas.  They can weave through traffic, are easy to park, light enough to push and can run at decent speeds, provided you’re not trying to participate in a race.  They are not ideal for off-road driving, when streets or paths are unpaved.  Most units in this category are quite affordable.

Dirt bikes
Dirt bikes are sometimes called off-road motorcycles.  Although their engines are light and their bodies simple, they are made of tougher stuff compared to the scooter.  They are so-named because they are built to withstand conditions off the road.  Their tires are considerably larger and have better traction than those that are used with scooters.  Dirt bikes are also faster than scooters.

Dirt bikes are ideal if you’ll be traveling streets that are unpaved or if you intend to use them on rugged trails.  They are the best type of motorcycle for you if you’re an outdoorsy type.  If this is the category you want, check with your locality if using the motorcycle on city streets is allowed.  There may be restrictions in place.

Sport motorcycle
Sport motorcycles are built with high-performance engines and light frames.  They are the right type of motorcycle for you if you are an experienced driver and want a fast means of transportation.  It’s also built for comfort, even if you will have to lean your body forward just to grip the controls.

Cruisers
Cruisers are the type of motorcycle that’s right for you if you intend to use your bike for long rides.  They are built with a low center of gravity and quite comfortable seats, so you can drive for several hours in comfort and safety.  They are not built for speed like sport motorcycles, though but they can be used on city streets, long, open highways and even dirt roads.

But even those who are able to ride bicycles will have to
adjust to the weight of handling a motorcycle. Worry not,
though, if you are just a beginner when it comes to riding
a bike because this article will show you how.

1. Know thy bike

- it is essential for any rider to know what each bike
control does. So a good introduction on where the brakes
are, for example should be done before anything else. It
makes the entire process of learning to ride the bike much

boots.

5. Get an instructor

- a professional motorcycling instructor will provide you
with the right techniques in riding correctly and safely so
